Adoption Update: Paperwork to India

Adoption Update: Paperwork to India | Kurtz India adoption | Journey of Faith

All of our paperwork was mailed to India last week!

At this point, there are a number of approvals that several different officials will give to us as we proceed with the adoption of our daughter.  I’m overjoyed.  Our family is missing our little one, and we are anxious to bring her home!

Would you please pray:

1. For our daughter.  She is in India, we are here.  This is very difficult, and it sure has been a test of my faith in our gracious, sovereign Father who is watching over her.  Will you pray for her health and protection; and that even now God would be preparing her for us?

2. For the paperwork.  Please pray that our paperwork is not lost as it is sent from place to place, and pray also that everything will be processed smoothly.  Please pray that we will be given the subsequent approvals we need to continue the work of bringing our daughter home.

We really don’t know how long we will be waiting before we receive our NOC (No-Objection Certificate).  Many months.  But once we get to that point, we will be able to send a photo-book to our girl.  CANNOT WAIT.

Right now, we are working on the next step in the I-800 application, which is for our daughter’s immigration.  I’ve never been fond of paperwork, but this part has been SO FUN!!  We love that we can glance at her picture and know exactly who we are filling these documents out for – {our} girl.  We also have some other, smaller documents to fill out while we complete the immigration application.  It never ends!

Oh, and then there’s fundraising.  We are so humbled and thankful that God has provided for us financially, so much so that at this point, most of the money we need to raise will be for traveling expenses.  I’m hoping a t-shirt fundraiser will be all we need to do, especially if we get accepted for a matching grant.  But anyway.  I’m terrified of starting the fundraising part, so please pray that I can figure it all out!

As always, your support means the world to us.  Thank you, thank you!

  1. Thank you for sharing about your adoption! My husband and I are praying about adopting from India and it’s encouraging to hear where others are in their process. I pray God will bless you richly as you seek Him in your journey!
